PHTC006 / Anton Mayer - Inner Space

Anton Mayer’s work is full of strange tempo melodies with evolving layers that tend to distort our brains and turn us into non-conformed machines, nameless and scattered into little pieces. You’ll just have to rearrange them when you stop listening to this EP. It’s like therapy when you’re tired of your logical routine, to dismember into tiny pieces what you are.
The strong, noisy beats contrast with spacey keyboards and sounds from outer galaxies, and the melodies are clear and simple. The electronic Radiohead-like “Thought II” is the highlight here, a catchy tune with simple chords echoing while beats go on and off, while the closing track “Inner Spirit” sounds like some kind of techno-gospel from the shores of the Mediterranean. Be aware, for it is sure to grow every time you listen to it.
